Four Phases
to a Profitable
iGaming
Business
Most online casinos burn through their runway before they ever turn a profit. Our 4-phase framework is for iGaming Operators who want to survive year one.
A structured path from concept
to profitable operation.
We don't do generalist consultancy.
iGaming is all we do.
Hi, I'm Judd. I ran my own online casinos for 12 years before I started advising other people on theirs. Every KickStart engagement is run by me personally, with specialists brought in where the job needs them.

What operators ask us first.
What does an iGaming consultancy actually do?
An iGaming consultancy advises online casino and sportsbook operators on the decisions that determine whether the business works commercially - which licence to hold, which platform and payment providers to sign, what the launch will really cost, and how to acquire and retain players at a margin. We work as operators rather than analysts, so every engagement ends in documents you can execute from rather than a set of recommendations.
How much does it cost to launch an online casino?
The setup figure varies enormously by licence jurisdiction, target markets and whether you go white label, turnkey or proprietary. Year-one licensing alone ranges from about €25,000 for Anjouan to €76,000-€96,000 for a Malta MGA licence, before share capital. The number that actually matters is not setup cost but cost to first profit, because that is what your runway has to cover, and it is almost always larger than founders expect.
Which iGaming licence should I choose?
It depends on which markets you intend to serve, how much capital you can tie up, how quickly you need to be live, and whether you need Tier-1 payment processing. Anjouan and Nevis are the cheapest and fastest offshore routes. Curaçao is the best-known offshore licence, but since its 2024 reform it is slower and more expensive than it was. Malta and the Isle of Man carry more weight with players, banks and acquirers but cost considerably more. Our jurisdiction guides set out costs, timelines and trade-offs for all seven.
When is the right time to bring in an iGaming consultant?
Before the money is committed. The cheapest point to change a licensing, platform or payments decision is while it is still a decision. The second-best moment is immediately after a soft launch, when you have real numbers but have not yet scaled spend behind them. The expensive moment is month three of a live brand that is not working.
Do you work with operators outside Europe?
Yes. We work with operators globally, and market selection is one of the things we advise on rather than assume. What changes by region is the licensing route, the payment stack and the acquisition economics - the framework itself does not.
